A city in the Human Federation where a large scale explosion took place, killing 146,000 people.

Background[]

Constantine, before the war.

The Battle of Constantine[]

Constantine was the site of a terrible battle during the Human-Arcanic War, culminating in its destruction by an unknown calamity.

During the fighting, the Cumaea captured arcanics and forced arcanic children into slavery. On threat of death, these children were forced to scavenge the battlefield for supplies from fallen soldiers. Many died in the process, often killed by opposing fire from their own kind.

Aftermath of the Calamity[]

The incident that destroyed Constantine is the target of many debates and conspiracies. The members of the Cumaea believe the arcanics were the cause. For awhile, the fear of the arcanic weapon of mass destruction kept a stalemate between the humans and the arcanics, but now that fear is used to rally the masses to war.

Some arcanic children were caught in the explosion, but came out completely unharmed. The Warlord captured a few of these children in attempt to learn the truth of the event; when they could reveal nothing, she had them killed.

History[]

Volume 4[]

It is suggested that Constantine suffered a similar fate as Pontus, indicating some old god power had been unleashed on the city. It is further suggested by Corvin that the Dusk Court believes Maika was somehow responsible for it.

Professor Tam Tam's archival research shows a postcard of Constantine before its destruction, and a picture of it after, revealing it is completely destroyed.

Volume 5[]

In flashbacks to the battle, Maika and Tuya, only children at the time, are sent into active fire zones to retrieve equipment for their human masters.

In the present day, Atena and Resak arrive in Constantine to attend peace talks in response to Aurum's bombing. Following their intuition, they avoid the talks, only to witness the envoys murdered in a bombing.
