Personality[]
The Shaman Empress was like none other, profound and far-seeing, but ever restless. She pursued her ambitions, leaving a mark on the world for centuries to come. She developed technology that far exceeded modern technology.
The Blood Fox recalls that even before her ascension, the Shaman Empress was powerful.

Background[]
It has been denoted by record-keepers that the Shaman Empress was the first Arcanic to be born––the midwives that delivered her didn't know what they were looking at. She was saved from unceremonious murder by the Ancients in thanks to her influential mother and the great poet Ruskaiya Brass Talon. The poet spirited the infant away to the temple of Ubasti. Though her name was removed from all records by Ruskaiya, the infant grew up to become what everyone knows as the Shaman Empress.
In life, the Shaman Empress sought the powers of the monstrum. She created the Mask of Power to control these creatures and trapped the monstrum known as Zinn within her.
The Blood Fox believed that before the Shaman Empress died, she broke the mask, realizing the peril of her creation. The monster did not die with the Shaman Empress, however, and was instead passed through her bloodline, lying in slumber until awakening in Maika Halfwolf.
It is revealed through Zinn's memories that it shared a deep, almost loving, bond with the Shaman Empress. She gave him a purpose even after her death; to continue becoming someone new, to move forward and never back.
History[]
Volume Four[]
The Doctor drains Gull of her old god blood, using it as a power source. This is known as the "Method", according to Vihn, revealing the Shaman-Empress' mastery over the old gods. The Doctor reinforces this belief, stating that the Shaman-Empress enslaved and dominated Zinn within her.
Legacy[]
It is believed that the same force that gave the Ancients their power remade them again, removing the walls between their flesh and humans. And so, a child was conceived from an Ancient mother and human father. The Ancients feared the half-breed and if not for her mother's considerable power, she would have been killed.
